Batam and Bintan, Indonesia

Being an OFW in Singapore, the nearby islands to visit are Bintan and Batam in Indonesia. They are accessible via the ferry terminals at Harbour Front and Tanah Merah.

In November 2009, Jet and I embarked on our first ferry ride to Bintan and booked a resort named Putri Pandan, which was just about S$40 per night then.

It took us three years to come back to Indonesia and tried Batam for a change in January 2012 while waiting for the approval of my employment pass processing in Singapore. We stayed at Harris Resort Batam as it was running a regular stay promo in lots of deal and coupon sites in the little red dot.

In May 2012, we took the ferry again at Tanah Merah terminal to Bintan and stayed at the picturesque Cabana Resort.

After a year, we came back and tried the Bintan Spa Villa Resort in October 2013 from a deal site named Voucherlicious.

Here are the photos taken during the four trips. Jet used to be camera-shy and was happy to be my photographer boyfriend then, which was a good opportunity for me to train him as my future  "Instagram-hubby," Hahaha! (insert evil laugh).

One can enjoy breakfast by the beach at the Cabana Resort in Bintan.

I asked Jet to cover me with sand and I woke up the next day with lots of sand bug bites. The rashes were so itchy and it took a long time for me to recover.

Sunbathing and allowing sand bugs to have me as their meal.

We used to own a kite and brought it during our trip for moments like this.

It was a windy day and it was a good day to fly a kite.

Stray dogs here were friendly and gentle.
Marimar and Fulgoso moment, LOL

Posing at some rock formations.

They were harvesting seafood and I disturbed them.

When it's low tide, one can walk the beach facing Putri Pandan Resort.

Meet Booger, my panda bear. It was the first time I brought "him" during a trip. He's been to Japan and Australia too. LOL

This was taken along the beachfront of Cabana Resort in Bintan.

I don't know about you but with my love for chicken, I declare "Ayam Penyet" as Indonesia's national food. We always eat it while in the "Emerald of the Equator."

This photo was at Harris Resort in Batam.

I used to own a motor scooter when I was young so I was thrilled to ride an electric scooter in Batam. We rented this in the resort for about an hour.

I have small feet in real life. It's just about 5.5 inches.

Harris Resort got hotel rooms aside from cabana rooms and a basketball court. I tried shooting for Jet's sake.

I used to love eating green pea snack.

There's also a bowling alley at Harris Resort. Jet and I played to kill time.

I know it's wrong to hop onto a thread mill without rubber shoes. This is just for photo to pretend I'm working out. I'm not fond of exercising TBH, it's just a matter of accompanying Jet as he loves to pay a visit to the gym when there is one in the hotel or resort.
