Florence: Birthplace of Renaissance

Da Vinci, Galileo Galilee and Alighieri's haven.  Definitely my favorite Tuscan region. Ciao Firenze!

June 2013, I look so young here.

I can see my friend Eva here in the reflection. This painting is on window display.

Photobomber here was annoying. Thus, explains my weird smile.

Firenze is such a touristy place.

Italian cities have thousands of fountains. During my first time in Italy, I did not know they were safe for drinking. When I came back in summer of 2017, I made sure I've got an empty bottle with me to quench my thirst with these reliable fountains.

Countries like Italy earns a lot from tourists.

I Heart Firenze!

Travelling gives one a feeling of fulfilment. Never in my dreams when I was a child that I will be able to see so many lovely places.

I am holding Eva's paper bag here. Not mine. I do not have the luxury to buy expensive clothes and accessories.

We stayed at Hotel Lorena Firenze, a very basic accommodation as I remember. Nothing really great except it's in central Florence and near the train station.

Those tents sell knockoff goods, high-end bags by mostly illegal immigrants who fail to secure decent jobs in Italy. Just for the record, I did not buy and will not risk buying from them. The smile is just an effect of my being naturally bubbly. :)

Passing by the tuscan region on our way to The Mall, Leccio. A nice auntie from Hong Kong, living in Canada, was kind enough to allow Eva and I to ride a benz with her. We failed to ask for her name and photo because we were very shy back then. She was also on her way to The Mall and saw the poor us waiting to catch the shuttle to The Mall. It was like a dream when it happened and we got lost in our conversations with her inside the car.
